Welcoming our new Head of Service: A Message from the National Neurodivergence Team

As we warmly welcome Sian Lewis as the new Head of Service for the National Neurodivergence Team, we also take this moment to honour the remarkable legacy of Wendy Thomas.

Wendy’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in shaping the landscape of neurodivergence support in Wales. Her commitment to co-production and collaboration ensured that voices from across the neurodivergent community informed initiatives. From pioneering essential resources and leading impactful events, to championing the transformation from ASDinfoWales to Neurodivergence Wales. Her dedication leaves a lasting foundation for inclusive progress.

Now, Sian Lewis steps into the role with a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to continuing this legacy. With a background in social work, extensive leadership across regional services, and most recently as Programme Manager for the Neurodivergence Improvement Programme, Sian brings both passion and purpose to the path ahead:

“It is a real honour to take on this role and I am very excited for the journey ahead… There is a huge energy in Wales for change and I look forward to us all working together to improve outcomes for the neurodivergent population.”

This move marks Sian’s departure from her Programme Manager position for the Neurodivergence Improvement Programme as she takes on her new responsibilities with the National Neurodivergence Team. We look forward to this next chapter with energy, optimism, and shared purpose.
